CNC Optimization

V11.1 adds Laser/Plasma output modes, sharp-corner controls and optional generic GRBL G-code. It prioritizes the original DXF shape, uses stricter global LINE/ARC fitting, and clearly shows when changed settings still need to be applied, reduces unnecessary segments, can add tangent corner radii, removes duplicates and closes only small gaps within your tolerance.

This tool automatically simplifies and repairs DXF geometry. Complex splines, very small details, tight corners or unusual entities may not always be optimized perfectly. Always open the downloaded DXF in your CAD/CAM software, inspect all contours and run a toolpath preview before laser, plasma or CNC cutting.

DXF CNC Optimizer FAQ

What does the DXF optimizer do?

It analyzes DXF geometry, detects common CNC preparation issues, converts supported spline geometry into connected polyline geometry with true arc segments where possible, removes duplicates and can close very small gaps.

Should I check the file before cutting?

Yes. Always inspect the downloaded DXF in AutoCAD, CorelDRAW or your CAM software before machining. Automatic geometry optimization cannot guarantee a perfect result for every complex DXF.

Why are splines converted to polylines and arcs?

Many plasma and CNC workflows are more reliable with connected polylines and circular arcs. The optimizer attempts to preserve the original shape while reducing unnecessary points.

What does Maximum shape deviation mean?

It controls how closely the optimized geometry must follow the sampled original curve. A smaller value preserves more detail but may create more segments.

What is Corner radius?

When corner smoothing is enabled, this is the target radius used to soften eligible sharp corners. Always review small or narrow details after optimization.

Are my DXF files uploaded to a server?

The optimizer is designed to process the DXF locally in your browser. Your design does not need to be sent to our server for the geometry calculations.
